Neurosupport is pleased to announce that, as part of Brain Awareness Week, we will be holding our second Head Matters Tea Party on Tuesday 13th March, from 11.00am-3.00pm here in the Neurosupport Centre. On the day there will be refreshments, stalls, information stands, Gilmour Junior School Samba Band, Singing Our Socks Off choir, Wheels for All adapted cycle project, and - for all animal lovers - Merseyside Police will be here with some of their horses! The event will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool.
There will also be a talk from neurosurgeon Martin Wilby, Walton Centre lead surgeon for trauma, and former soldier Peter Robert McCombe, injured in Afghanistan by an IED, in his words "Without my helmet I would not be here now".
Joe Paton is walking on that day from the Walton Centre to Neurosupport - arriving in time for tea and cakes at the party. Join us for a tea, coffee, cake and biscuits!
Joe's walk will help raise funds for the Brain Tumor Support Group and Neurosupport. To join in the walk you can get sponsorship forms from Carolyn Garlick at Neurosupport, tel. 0151 207 8520. If you would like to support the walk, go online to www.justgiving.com/JoePaton2 or text "HMWA12 £5" to 70070.
You can read about Joe's walk last year and his inspirational story in back issues of our Glance newsletter February-March 2011 and April-May 2011.
